China’s U17 women’s national team defeated India 3-0 in the quarterfinals of the 2026 AFC U17 Women’s Asian Cup, held in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province. Alongside Japan, Australia, and North Korea, they advanced to the semifinals and simultaneously clinched a berth in the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco.
The tournament features 12 teams, with the top four earning World Cup tickets. China topped Group A with three wins, then faced India, who finished third in Group B. Despite dominating the match, China struggled to break through until the 38th minute, when Liu Yuxi assisted Huang Qinyi for the opener. Just before halftime, Liu Yuxi converted a penalty to make it 2-0.
In the second half, India’s defense held firm until the dying minutes, when substitute Li Qixian scored from close range to seal a 3-0 victory. In other quarterfinals, Japan edged South Korea 1-0, Australia beat Vietnam 2-0, and North Korea thrashed Thailand 6-0.
China will face North Korea in the semifinals on May 14, while Japan meets Australia for a spot in the final.
