

Braxton Ashcraft delivered seven innings of one-run ball, while catcher Joey Bart matched his career high with four hits, as the Pittsburgh Pirates erupted for 20 hits in a 13-3 rout of the host San Francisco Giants on Saturday night.
Nick Gonzales also recorded four hits, and Brandon Lowe drove in four runs for the Pirates, who have now won six of their last eight games.
Giants starter Landen Roupp (5-3) kept the game scoreless through four innings, matching Ashcraft pitch for pitch. However, Bart led off the fifth with an infield single on Roupp’s 94th pitch, prompting San Francisco manager Tony Vitello to turn to his bullpen.
After Oneil Cruz singled and stole second, Lowe put the Pirates ahead 1-0 with a sacrifice fly, and Bryan Reynolds followed with an RBI single to make it 2-0.
Bryce Eldridge launched his first career home run to get the Giants on the board in the bottom of the fifth, but Pittsburgh regained control with a two-run sixth inning and then blew the game open with a six-run seventh.
Konnor Griffin and Bart contributed RBI singles in the sixth, before Lowe highlighted the seventh with a two-run triple.
Bart capped his four-hit night with a leadoff single off infielder-turned-pitcher Christian Koss in the ninth, sparking a three-run rally.
Ashcraft (2-2) allowed just six hits over seven innings, striking out six without issuing a walk.
Bart, who spent his first four seasons with the Giants, matched the four-hit games he had twice in 2025 for the Pirates. He also scored three times and drove in two runs.
Cruz also scored three times and added three hits, while Lowe and Spencer Horwitz each crossed the plate twice. Lowe and Ryan O’Hearn recorded two hits apiece in the season-high 20-hit attack.
Heliot Ramos had two singles for the Giants, who won the series opener 5-2 on Friday night but have now lost nine of their last 11 games.
San Francisco added two runs in the bottom of the ninth on a bases-loaded walk to Drew Gilbert and an RBI single by Eric Haase.
