Spain is represented by 21 players, of which 10 are members of the ProSpain Team of the Royal Spanish Golf Federation, solidifying one of the strongest national contingents in the tournament. It’s an opportunity to shine on home soil on a demanding and prestigious course.
Among the names to follow, Pablo Ereño stands out as one of the great promises of Spanish golf and a ProSpain member. Currently ranked 12th on the HotelPlanner Tour after the Challenge of Italy, the young Madrid native aims to cement his place among the circuit’s elite. With two top-5 finishes in his first year as a professional, he will seek his first title in the first HotelPlanner Tour event held in Spain.
Masaveu: From Fontanals to LIV Golf
Santiago Tarrío from Galicia also draws attention. One of Spain’s leading golfers in recent years, he is a Challenge Tour winner with experience on the DP World Tour, where he came close to victory three times (top-3 finishes). He arrives at Fontanals eager to fight for top positions and regain his spot among Europe’s elite.
Special mention goes to Luis Masaveu, a standout name of the new generation. Last year he posted a brilliant third-place finish at Fontanals, and he is now part of the Fireballs team on LIV Golf, reflecting his international projection and ability to compete at the highest level.
The Challenge de Catalunya will have strong Catalan representation.

The tournament also features a notable Catalan presence, including players such as Joel Moscatel, Eduard Rousaud, Lucas Vacarisas, Albert Boneta, Josep Maria Serra, Alex Esmatges, and amateur Marcel Fonseca. They have the chance to compete at home, which always adds extra motivation and connection with the fans. Among them, Joel Moscatel and Lucas Vacarisas stand out with Challenge Tour victories that earned them spots on the DP World Tour, which they hope to return to and advance their careers.
